Purchasing Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our client's purchasing department in Telford. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support for purchasing activities, including raising and processing purchase orders, maintaining stock levels, and sourcing services and components from suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Raising and processing purchase orders as requested
  • Maintaining stock levels for consumables across the site
  • Sourcing services and components and negotiating with suppliers
  • Setting up new suppliers on the ERP System
  • Attending supplier meetings
  • Managing supplier service levels
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Purchasing Assistant / Purchasing Administrator role
  • Experience with a manufacturing or engineering environment would be ideal but not essential
  • Previous experience in liaising and negotiating with suppliers
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office (outlook, word, excel and PowerPoint)
