Culinary Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Culinary Specialist to join our team at Westgate Healthcare. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing hot and cold meals for our residents, ensuring their nutritional needs are met and their preferences are respected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to our seasonal menus, taking into account the dietary needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Assist with planning and implementing new menu ideas, ensuring they are appealing and nutritious.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Monitor and record fridge temperatures, ensuring our kitchen meets regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with our team to maintain a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a care home or school setting.
  • Certificate Level II in Food Safety and Hygiene.
  • Knowledge of nutritional needs of older people and health and safety regulations.
  • A positive and flexible attitude, with excellent communication skills.
