Culinary Care Team Member

At HC-One, we value one thing above all: kindness. It permeates every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Our team members understand that our Residents are people just like them, with their own stories to tell.
As a Culinary Care Team Member, you'll play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious, healthy meals that our residents will love. You'll demonstrate the highest standards in cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene.
Maintaining food supplies, fridge/freezer temperatures, and showing new starters how to use equipment are essential responsibilities. You'll always have Resident wellbeing in mind above anything else.
We're looking for a Culinary Care Team Member with kitchen experience, either an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or the willingness to study for one. Great record-keeping and organisational skills are essential, as is the ability to follow recipes.
When communicating with Residents or colleagues, you'll be truly considerate and kind. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility; you'll be able to recognise signs indicating possible abuse, harm, or neglect and know what to do if concerns arise.
All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and undertake additional training in associated areas. If action isn't taken, you'll know how to escalate concerns.
We provide full training, making this a great opportunity to learn something new. In return, you'll enjoy access to various benefits and services supporting your physical and psychological well-being.
Some benefits include:
- Part-time position (19 hours)
- Hourly rate subject to experience and qualifications (£9.50 - £10.75 per hour)
- Paid Enhanced DBS/PVG
- Free uniform
- Nutritious meal during shifts of eight hours or more
- Company pension scheme
- 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
- Group life assurance cover
- Wagestream financial wellbeing and flexible access to pay
- Award-winning learning and development opportunities
- GP online service providing GP consultations via an interactive app
- Colleague discounts
- Wellbeing programme offering confidential support
- Recognition schemes and Long Service Awards
- Refer a friend scheme up to £1000 per referral
