Job Title: Materials Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Materials Engineer to join our team at Line Up Aviation. As a Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in identifying alternative compounds or processes for manufacturing and recommending engineering activities to verify these alternatives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Compile material similarity reports against customer/design specifications.
  • Create Investigation Reports (IRs) to instigate drawing changes with technical justification.
  • Work in accordance with procedures and design standards, contributing to developing best working practices.
  • Deliver against project schedules and meet project milestones in a multi-project team environment.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and interest in surface treatments, including chemical and electro-chemical processing, and environmental regulations for aerospace applications.
  • A minimum of a Degree or HNC/HND in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a similar field.
  • Experience in materials design/selection and/or process engineering is preferred.
  • Experience with environmental legislation and NADCAP requirements is beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and concisely to various levels in the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task and re-prioritize tasks quickly in a dynamically changing environment.

Vetting:

  • The successful candidate will undergo BPSS screening, a drug screen, and DBS check prior to starting.
  • Candidates must hold a UK or NATO country passport due to the nature of the work being undertaken on site.
