Do you have a passion for automotive technology and a desire to work for a leading transportation company? We are currently seeking a Bus Fleet Diagnostics Expert to join our team at Transport UK London Bus.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a fast-growing company that operates 11% of London's bus network, running over 900 modern high-tech vehicles and employing around 3,500 employees across six depots in Central, South and West London.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £55,000-£70,000 depending on experience. This includes a competitive remuneration package that rewards your skills and dedication.

As a Bus Fleet Diagnostics Expert, you will be responsible for investigating, diagnosing and recording vehicle mechanical & electronic faults. You will also carry out repairs, inspections and maintenance on our fleet, instructing other technicians to act upon faults you've diagnosed.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to work well using your own initiative and without detailed instructions. You will also need to confidently use modern computer systems for fleet management and diagnostics, reading and interpreting instructions, schematics, wiring diagrams and service manuals.

Duties will include:

  • Acting on the Head of Engineering's instructions to support the individual depots
  • Investigating, diagnosing and recording vehicle mechanical & electronic faults
  • Carrying out repairs, inspections and maintenance on our fleet
  • Instructing other technicians to act upon faults you've diagnosed
  • Being able to work well using your own initiative and without detailed instructions
  • Clearly documenting faults and rectification work conducted in the appropriate detail with the aid of electronic tablets
  • Confidently using modern computer systems for fleet management and diagnostics
  • Reading and interpreting instructions, schematics, wiring diagrams and service manuals
  • Challenging our suppliers to provide the right equipment if the tools, software and service manuals are incorrect/insufficient
