Head of Mathematics

The Bedford College Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead our Mathematics department. As Head of Maths, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective teaching, learning, and assessment of mathematics across the college.

• Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
• Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student outcomes in mathematics.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the curriculum is relevant, engaging, and meets the needs of our students.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning, making recommendations for improvement.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure the department is well-equipped to meet the needs of our students.

• Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, QTS).
• Relevant degree and/or level 5 qualification in mathematics.
• Good standard of education.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
