About the Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our dynamic team at a school in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with special educational needs and help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to develop individualized support plans that cater to the unique academic and behavioural needs of each student.
  • Provide targeted assistance to students through one-on-one sessions, focusing on specific areas where they need improvement, such as reading, writing, or managing behavioural challenges.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help students develop strategies to manage their emotions and actions.
  • Work with teachers to ensure that the classroom is a supportive and inclusive space for all students.
  • Keep detailed records of student progress and behaviour and provide regular updates to teachers and parents.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and coordinate support efforts.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A strong commitment to helping students with special educational needs succeed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Collaboration is key in this role, and you should be able to work well with others.
  • Any relevant qualifications or training will be an advantage.
