About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team at the NHS. As an Audiologist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality hearing assessments and care to adults of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive hearing assessments, including history taking and discussion with patients and/or caregivers as required.
  • Perform routine audiometric testing, including audiometry, tympanometry, and acoustic reflex testing.
  • Conduct hearing aid assessments, fittings, validations, and ongoing support of adults and families, with both analogue and digital signal processing instruments.
  • Take aural impressions on patients of all ages, adhering to British Society of Audiology recommended procedures.
  • Undertake hearing aid validation using Real Ear Measurement systems, RECD, and free field testing as appropriate, and act accordingly on information obtained from insertion gain testing.
  • Participate in regular update meetings and training courses to stay current with industry developments.
Requirements
  • Audiology or BAAT (parts I&II) plus Btec Medical Physics & Physiological Measurement or Dip HE in Audiology or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligibility for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPsG).
  • One year undergraduate placement in an Audiology Department or one year experience working in NHS audiology.
  • Theoretical knowledge of digital hearing aid fitting.
