Job Description

This exciting role spans the FCAS Portfolio, covering both operational product development, advanced technology demonstrations and complex service offerings. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be primarily focused on engineering work package support and supervision, delivering development and demonstration concepts and systems – providing support to engineering management, leadership and early issue identification in conjunction with the project Chief Engineer and Project Engineering Manager.

GCAP is an international endeavour, and the successful candidate will have the potential to travel overseas to work with colleagues in Italy and Japan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide design of product and / or processes within software engineering, to ensure successful eventual transfer into production.
  • Ensure engineering design is best practice by following Company and Engineering life cycle processes.
  • Complete engineering tasks to a satisfactory standard as set out by the work package manager.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Able to complete moderately complex designs with little assistance.
  • Knowledge of engineering developments within their discipline.
  • Working with a minimal level of supervision.
Bonus Points

If you have:

  • Experience with military biased product design and test standards.
  • Experience in integrating systems and sub-systems together, ideally for airborne environments, and system design and architecture.
  • Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
