Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering a comprehensive and engaging Science curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on expertise. The role entails fostering a stimulating and inquiry-based learning environment that encourages critical thinking, scientific curiosity, and a deep understanding of the scientific world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Delivery: Design and deliver inspiring Science lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's high expectations for achievement.
  • Classroom Management: Create a dynamic classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement, participation, and a love of learning.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback to facilitate individual growth and attainment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with colleagues within the Science department and across the school to enrich the learning experience.
  • Professional Development: Stay abreast of current pedagogical approaches and developments in Science education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education and Certification: A Bachelor's degree or higher in a Science subject or a closely related field and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching Science at the secondary level.

Remuneration and Benefits:

  • Salary: A competitive salary of £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, aligned with the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS), depending on experience and qualifications.
