Job Title: Experienced Year 4 Teacher

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced teacher to join our team at a one form entry primary school in Great Barr.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a Year 4 class from January 2025 onwards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Class Management:

The teacher will be responsible for planning, teaching, and managing a class of pupils. This will include:

  • Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed;
  • Setting tasks that challenge pupils and maintain high levels of interest;
  • Identifying SEN or very able pupils and providing targeted support;
  • Maintaining discipline and encouraging good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work, and homework;
  • Using a variety of teaching methods to match approach to content and structure information effectively;
  • Evaluating own teaching critically to improve effectiveness;
  • Ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of classroom support;
  • Providing structured learning opportunities that develop the areas of learning identified in national and local policies;
  • Encouraging pupils to think and talk about their learning, develop self-control and independence, concentrate and persevere, and listen attentively.

A competitive salary based on the National Pay Scale (£28,000 - £42,000 per annum) is offered for this position.
