Job Title: Academy Catering Manager

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to lead our kitchen team as Head of Kitchen/Catering Manager. This is a unique opportunity to work in a friendly and flexible environment within school kitchens in Thurrock.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, producing, and delivering an excellent standard food service to staff and pupils at schools in the Grays area of Thurrock. They will need to promote the service, keep abreast of new products and legislation, and manage the catering provision to ensure an efficient and cost-effective service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a high standard catering service
  • Cover and support the Catering Service wherever required across Thurrock
  • Promotion of the Catering Service, keeping abreast of new products and legislation
  • Organise and manage the catering provision to ensure an efficient and cost-effective service
  • Ordering provisions, food preparation, and cooking in accordance with the recipe file and menu
  • Manage staff, including attendance and annual appraisals
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a positive 'can-do' attitude, excellent customer care ethics, and a flexible approach. They will also require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check at Enhanced Level.
