Mechanical Project Lead

The Mechanical Project Lead will play a key role in supporting onshore and offshore project operations at PXGEO. This position involves providing technical support in the completion of all technical deliverables and ensuring that project activities are performed in accordance with internal, client, and HS&E specific procedures and requirements.
This role will also provide engineering support within the company in support of equipment development, development of internal technical procedures, and other engineering support as required.
Main Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare technical documentation, including method statements, specifications, calculations, and technical qualifications, for AUV Fleet opportunities to support commercial tendering.
- Develop and manage mechanical specifications for 3rd Party engineering services in support of project or internal technical/engineering support.
- Ensure the delivery of all project-generated documentation, including project specific procedures, task plans, project plans, and risk assessments, to support project activities.
- Conduct feasibility evaluations of planned operations, including participation in HAZID/HAZOP.
- Manage daily project support operations, keeping project/operations management informed of project status and any developments that impact schedule, cost, safety, and reputation through regular project reporting.
- Design and engineer special or modified equipment with a mechanical bias.
- Expedite vendor and outsourced project services.
- Work cooperatively with others to reflect departmental and organisational priorities, ensuring maximum use of project resources, technical integrity, operational efficiency, quality assurance, safe, and successful completion of projects.
- Act as a client liaison, managing commercial and reputation risk issues, and serve as the main client contact for day-to-day project operations in the absence of the Project Manager.
- Assist in the development/improvement of technical and business processes.
- Report functionally to the Project Manager in relation to project engineering activities.
- Perform any other duties in support of the company's aim to provide exceptional project delivery.
Requirements:
- HND or higher in an engineering discipline.
- Professional accreditation of IEng or above with a recognised institution.
- Experience in delivering engineering support in the offshore arena or another transferable industry.
- Awareness of project management techniques and experience working to project deadlines and reporting requirements.
- Commitment to PXGEO's environmental agenda.
