Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Family Support Specialist to join our Children's Services team at Middlesbrough Council.

The successful candidate will work with children, young people, and families to deliver support and services that promote change and development, meeting their physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social, and cultural needs.

  • Delivering support and services that promote positive change and development for children and young people
  • Working directly with children, young people, and their families and carers to develop effective joint working partnerships
  • Meeting the physical, emotional, intellectual, behavioral, health, social, and cultural needs of children and young people

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that delivers interventions to bring together families and community members. The successful candidate will need to be committed to improving outcomes for children, promoting their wishes and feelings, and working directly with children, young people, and their families and carers in various settings.

The post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. We estimate the salary for this role to be around £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

  • Developing good joint working partnerships with families, children, young people, and their significant others
  • Undertaking effective joint working within Social Care and with multi-agency partner agencies
  • Improving outcomes for children, promoting their wishes and feelings
