Job Title: Equality and Diversity Officer (HR)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Equality and Diversity Officer to join our team at East Ayrshire Council. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and developing Equality and Diversity issues across the Council, working towards creating a fair and professional working environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Equality and Diversity strategies to promote a culture of inclusion and respect within the Council.
  • Work with employees and managers to identify and address Equality and Diversity issues, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
  • Conduct Equality Impact Assessments to identify and mitigate potential Equality and Diversity risks.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to promote Equality and Diversity awareness and understanding among employees.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to promote Equality and Diversity issues and develop inclusive policies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Equality and Diversity roles, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions to Equality and Diversity issues.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Working Arrangements:

This is a full-time permanent post based within the Opera House, John Finnie Street, Kilmarnock. The workstyle for this post is 'Mobile' - 20-49% of time is office-based. Able to work at home, or another location, or travel directly from home to other locations and client visits out in the field.

Salary: £39, - £42, per annum.
