About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Functional Assessor to join our team at Advo Health. As a Functional Assessor, you will play a crucial role in the assessment process for individuals applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit or a Work Capability Assessment (WCA) as part of the DWPs Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).

You will work autonomously to assess cases, holding consultations and writing fair and accurate reports. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work with complex conditions and impairments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Holding telephone, video or in-person consultations with individuals applying for PIP or WCA.
  • Assessing a variety of complex conditions and impairments.
  • Using your strong verbal communication skills to write high-quality, fair and accurate assessment reports.
  • Working with your line manager to advance your own professional development and career as a Functional Assessor.
Essential Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience working as a Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist. You must also hold full registration with one of the following professional bodies: Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
