About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Educational Psychologist to lead our new Educational Psychology Department within the Children's Services Directorate at the Isle of Wight Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and manage the Educational Psychology Service, including supervision of staff and oversight of strategic projects.
  • Develop and monitor service planning, including key performance indicators and statutory timeframes.
  • Take responsibility for developing a traded service and representing the Educational Psychology Service in various meetings and partnerships.
  • Work with senior colleagues to drive forward the Education Strategy and improve SEN provision across the Island.
  • Contribute to Area SEND preparation and improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
Requirements
  • A qualified Educational Psychologist with significant leadership experience.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, taking responsibility for areas they lead on.
  • High-quality verbal and written communication skills.
  • A commitment to ensuring children and young people across the Isle of Wight achieve their best outcomes and develop into independent adults.
