Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Managing Estimator to lead our estimating team at our Burton-on-Trent office. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of detailed and accurate cost estimates for structural steel projects, analyzing project specifications, and developing comprehensive and competitive estimates.
- Develop and implement estimating strategies to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
- Lead and mentor the estimating team to ensure the accuracy and quality of all estimates.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop value engineering solutions and cost-saving strategies.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible pricing and delivery terms.
- Monitor and adjust estimates throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with budgets.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- A degree or relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or a related field is desirable.
