Principal Social Work Specialist

Cardiff County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our locality management team, you will play a critical role in shaping the practice and development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by example as a case-holder for children with complex needs, providing expert guidance and support to colleagues.
- Develop the practice of others within the team through joint working and supervision.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of effective systems to ensure high-quality services to children in need and their families.
- Work closely with the Team Manager to manage the performance and development of Social Workers.
- Support and encourage a culture of excellence within the service, promoting the Signs of Safety approach.
- Robust safeguarding experience and expertise in working with Children Looked After.
- Confidence in court proceedings and ability to work under pressure.
- Front-line post-qualifying experience in child protection services.
- Degree in Social Work and excellent skills in assessment, record-keeping, and report-writing.
- Excellent communication, organization, and IT skills.
