Culinary SpecialistHMP Dovegate seeks an experienced Culinary Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the catering services, you will assist in delivering high-quality food to prisoners while maintaining a safe and healthy environment. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary of £30,051 per annum plus benefits.
The ideal candidate will have City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or equivalent NVQ in Food Preparation and Production, as well as Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent GCSE. A strong commitment to rehabilitation and good supervisory skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Catering Manager in delivering catering services to the establishment
- Prepare varied and healthy menus for residents, including special diets and events
- Ensure security and food safety during delivery, storage, and distribution
- Record and document relevant paperwork for food hygiene regulations, Health & Safety, HACCP, and Company Policies
- Provide training and supervision to kitchen workers
- Perform random Quality Checks on serveries before, during, and after mealtimes
