Job Title: Case Manager Tenancy and Estates

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Case Manager to join our team in a Tenancy and Estates role. As a key member of our housing management team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of properties, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring that our tenants receive the support they need to sustain their tenancies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of properties, including conducting regular inspections and ensuring that properties are maintained to a high standard.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with other teams, including Sheltered, Income, Lettings, Compliance, Repairs, Capital Programme, and Customer Services, to ensure that our tenants receive a seamless service.
  • Conduct bi-monthly blocks and communal areas inspections to ensure that they are sterile and report any health and safety/fire risks in communal areas and take the necessary actions to alleviate the risk or report the concerns to the relevant department.
  • Conduct Annual Tenancy Checks to ascertain that current records are correct for the tenant and household; thoroughly inspecting the property and garden are being maintained in line with the tenancy agreement.
  • Address any health and safety risks that are highlighted by Assure app are acted upon in a timely manner.
  • Provide good relationships with all our multi-agency partners to ensure that our tenants receive the support that they may require.
  • Signpost and refer cases to other teams internally i.e., Debt and Benefit Advisor.
  • Support and consult with other areas of housing within the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A to C (including English and Maths) Essential
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent, or significant relevant experience within housing; local authority or registered provider Desirable
  • Evidence of continuing development of professional skills e.g., through training qualification or experience Essential
  • At least 2 years housing management experience in a similar setting with a registered provider.
  • Good understanding of the social housing; with a strong emphasis in housing management
  • Knowledge of working within Housing management, tenancy, and estates
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters with a wide range and spectrum of people in varying circumstances.
  • Experience of dealing with the general public and in particular vulnerable customers Experience of delivery of frontline customer services
  • Experience of working in an administrative role
  • Experience of recording and maintaining accurate statistical information

Skills:

  • Excellent customer care and people skills and an ability to communicate well both face to face, by email and by telephone.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good organisational and administrative skills
  • Good keyboarding / word processing skills
  • Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as case management systems.

Dimensions of Role:

Manage approximately 550 to 750 properties depending on the area. To do this effectively to ensure a seamless service to our customers.

To work remotely in your area, ensuring that you signpost your customers to the correct organisations when help and expert advice needed.

To ensure that tenancy remain sustainable but to also recognise when there are serious breaches and legal action may be required.

To work closely with colleagues within your service area when cover or additional support is needed.
