Job Title: Senior Quality Assurance Manager

We are currently recruiting a senior quality assurance manager for DCS Engineering based in Lancashire.

Our client is at the forefront of innovation in the manufacture of precision CNC machined components, operating in various sectors such as Aerospace, Oil and Gas, FMCG, Rail, and others.

We are looking for a methodical and driven individual with experience in quality management systems and inspections within a precision machining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand customer needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes.
  • Administer and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Maintain ISO 9001 accreditation.
  • Work with the operations team to achieve levels of ISO 18001 Health and Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental standards.
  • Evaluate and improve scrap, reject, rework, and concession quantities and costs.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to drive constant improvements in efficiency.
  • Oversee product development procedures to identify deviations from quality standards.
  • Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met.
  • Establish requirements for raw materials or intermediate products from suppliers and monitor their compliance.
  • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.
  • Manage internal audits.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through process enhancements and lean systems.
  • Implement 5S, 6S, and other relevant Kaizen principles.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on quality matters.
  • Contribute to problem-solving issues.
  • Provide training on quality best practices to personnel.
  • Manage the measurement and inspection process, including decisions on employee competence and equipment availability.
  • Perform first-off inspection, CMM prove-out, shopfloor sample checks, and have experience with CMM programming (MCosmos).
  • Cover all aspects of the Quality function occasionally for holidays, illness, or absence.

Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum depending on experience.
