Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be part of a team that delivers electrical and automation products to our Naval and Commercial Marine customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and verify Power Distribution Systems and Equipment to meet specialist, highly demanding technical specifications.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary engineers to ensure a holistic design process.
  • Present technical information and design specifications as part of the design review process.
  • Support the manufacture and testing of electrical products through to delivery.
  • Represent the Project/Company to customers, suppliers, and operators as necessary.
  • Author technical documentation, reports, schedules, schematics, etc.
Requirements:
  • Education to degree level or equivalent in the electrical field with experience in electrical design techniques.
  • Knowledge of both AC and DC electrical power distribution systems, their components, and sub-assemblies.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and independently apply problem-solving techniques to manage them through to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to articulate ideas, plans, and priorities to engineers of other disciplines.
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
  • Sound working knowledge of marine and electrical standards and regulations, such as Class Society rules, IEC61439, and Def Stans.
  • Professional registration as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working towards gaining a professional status.
  • Experience in design software such as AutoCAD electrical to generate electrical schematics.
