Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join our team at a Special Educational Needs school in Peterborough. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with mixed needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Autism, and Specific Learning Differences.

The successful candidate will be responsible for attending to the daily needs of the children, enhancing their physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development, and assisting with personal care. This includes maintaining a good standard of hygiene, encouraging physical development, and supporting the child with feeding and other daily tasks.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be patient and understanding, and have a good understanding of autism and challenging behaviors. They will also be able to work effectively as part of a team and maintain confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to children with special needs
  • Enhance physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of children
  • Maintain a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Encourage physical development and mobility
  • Support children with feeding and other daily tasks

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special needs
  • Good understanding of autism and challenging behaviors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Confidentiality and discretion
