About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Engineer to join our team at Starling Bank. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our Android app, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality, security, and user experience.

You will work closely with our cross-functional feature teams, collaborating with designers, QA engineers, and other engineers to deliver new features and improve existing ones. Your expertise in Kotlin, Java, and Android development will be essential in helping us build a world-class mobile banking app.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android app features, ensuring they meet our security and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with designers and QA engineers to ensure seamless integration and testing of new features.
  • Work with our engineering teams to identify and prioritize technical improvements and bug fixes.
  • Contribute to the development of our Android app's architecture, ensuring it is scalable, maintainable, and efficient.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring our codebase remains clean and maintainable.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in Android development, with a strong focus on Kotlin and Java.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality mobile apps, with a focus on security, performance, and user experience.
  • Excellent understanding of Android architecture, including MVVM, Dagger, and Realm.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest Android development trends and best practices.
