We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Threat Investigator to join our team of experts in the field of cyber defence. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in investigating and mitigating complex cyber threats to national security.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in threat analysis, vulnerability assessment, and penetration testing. You will be responsible for identifying and characterising emerging threats, developing mitigation strategies, and working closely with cross-functional teams to implement effective countermeasures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Rapidly summarise and assess new domains to identify potential vulnerabilities
  • Provide domain knowledge for technical analysis, experimental development, and subsequent engineering
  • Develop, assess, and prioritise prototype and simulated capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats

Mandatory Skills and Experience

  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • Innovative problem-solving and team-working abilities
  • Scripting languages (e.g. Python) and rapid development of prototypes or simulations (e.g. with C#)
  • Experience with network traffic analysis, reverse engineering, and vulnerability analysis

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • OSINT and interacting with SMEs
  • Knowledge of network architecture and security, risk assessment, systems engineering, and architectural frameworks
  • Experience with processor architecture, operating systems and firmware, standard and domain-specific protocols and data formats
  • Software development life cycle and assured development practices
