Assistant Cleaning Team Leader Job Description

GMP Recruitment is proud to partner with a national, specialist, commercial cleaning company to recruit an Assistant Cleaning Team Leader to join their team on a full-time, permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the team leader as their second in command
  • In the absence of the team leader, ensure all responsibilities are covered and work is completed to the expected standards
  • Ensure the weekly cleaning schedule is adhered to and all cleaning records are completed professionally and accurately
  • Responsible for ensuring all areas of the kitchens/equipment are cleaned effectively to standards required
  • Take ownership of Health and Safety for yourself and others at work
  • Complete all work in accordance with current legal Health and Safety requirements
  • Ensure team members are aware of their responsibilities
  • Client-facing position, must always be professional, represent the company image, and maintain excellent relations both internally and externally
  • Report problems and non-conformances to the management team
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and appearance
  • Wear protective clothing where necessary
  • Ensure any appropriate warning signs are always in use
  • Always observe and comply with site rules and regulations
  • Maintain equipment and materials in a clean and safe working order
  • Respond courteously to customer and management requests
  • Provide feedback and before & after photographs of the clean
  • Manage and control the use of cleaning chemicals, protective clothing, and hygiene consumables ensuring stocks are always maintained
  • Undertake any other duties requested by the management team

Requirements:

  • Experience of commercial kitchen cleaning and/or kitchen extract cleaning
  • Reliable and hardworking with a professional attitude
  • Ability to work to a predetermined schedule
  • Ability to lead and work as part of a team
  • Work using their own initiative and confident in decision-making
  • Supervisory experience
  • Flexible on working times - 5 days out of 7; available to work afternoons, evenings, and nights
  • Prepared to travel and stay away for short periods of time
  • Full clean UK/EU driving license
  • Knowledge and understanding of COSHH regulations
