We are a well-established education recruitment agency, dedicated to providing exceptional support to our schools and clients. We are currently seeking an experienced School Welfare Officer to join our team.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting health and well-being among students, contributing to the administration of first aid, and facilitating medical provision. This is a long-term role with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to the administration of first aid, health, and well-being initiatives for students
  • Promoting health guidance, well-being advice, and other supportive strategies to students as necessary
  • Facilitating medical provision for students, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances
  • Supervising sick and injured students, contacting parents as needed, and arranging hospitalisation or return home
  • Leading, monitoring, and implementing individual health care plans for students who require them
  • Administering medication, as agreed with parents and in accordance with the academy's health and safety policy
  • Working with individuals and groups of students on health-related issues through self-referral, drop-in sessions, peer training, and proactive work on sex education and health-related issues as directed by the Vice Principal, Behaviour and Inclusion
  • Offering confidential advice to students on health-related matters
  • Acting as advocate/counsellor for students who seek medical help and support or whose need for medical interventions are recognised by others
  • Liaising with health agencies, social workers, and other outside agencies, as directed by the multi-agency team

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience in an education or NHS environment, including the administration of first aid. You should also be willing to obtain a DBS check or have one in place already.

Benefits

This is a term-time only position, working hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm. The salary for this role is £22,000-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
