About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Childcare Home Director to lead our newly established children's care home in Birmingham. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for children, promoting their emotional, social, and educational well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Lead and manage the care home, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality care.
- Staff Supervision: Recruit, train, and manage care staff, ensuring performance expectations are met and high standards of care are delivered.
- Child Welfare: Safeguard the safety, well-being, and development of all children, working with social workers, therapists, and other professionals.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure compliance with OFSTED and other regulatory bodies, achieving positive inspection outcomes.
- Care Planning: Develop and oversee individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Budget & Resource Management: Manage resources efficiently, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Safeguarding: Lead safeguarding efforts, ensuring children's safety and protection at all times.
- Community Engagement: Build relationships with external partners, including local authorities, schools, and healthcare providers.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement policies supporting best practices in residential child care.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Child Care (or equivalent).
- Registration: Must be Ofsted registered.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years managing a residential child care setting.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, safeguarding, and relevant legislation/regulatory frameworks.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, with excellent team management and staff support skills.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to make informed decisions, solve problems effectively, and address challenges proactively.
