Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuary - Team Management to join our actuarial modelling team at The Emerald Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced actuary to take on a senior leadership role, managing a team of actuarial trainees and analysts.

About the Role

This role involves providing effective management of a team to optimise overall team performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a comprehensive, accurate and timely actuarial modelling production service across the company.

  • Estimated salary: £100,000 - £130,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of a comprehensive, accurate and timely actuarial modelling production service across the company.
• Contribute to the production and validation of actuarial data, in respect of the valuation of actuarial policy liabilities, cash flow matching for ALM purposes, modelled asset valuations.
• Provide training and develop the skills and knowledge of the team.
• Manage a strong control environment across the modelling process which is supported by appropriate key risk indicators.
• Ensure the team possesses a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent).
• Demonstrate good knowledge of Prophet and other actuarial models and their commercial application/implication.
• Exhibit advanced MS Excel skills demonstrating efficient use of spreadsheets and basic data manipulation skills.
• Validate the work of non-qualified and other recently qualified actuaries.
• Possess excellent analytical and report writing/drafting skills.
