Service Operations Manager

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing warehouses and teams, with a strong focus on operational safety and customer satisfaction. As a Service Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Deliver production plans in line with operating parameters and costs, while leading the site-based team in support of the design and fit-out of a new purpose-built warehouse facility.
  • Health and Safety Management: Take ownership of the health and safety agenda, promoting safe working practices and ensuring that all employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the initial point of contact for customers at site level for operational communication.
  • Inventory Control: Ensure new warehouse operatives are suitably trained and certified competent within their area of responsibility.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maximize the deployment of people, processes, materials, and equipment, ensuring that mitigations are in place in the event of disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Proven warehousing management experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Strong people management skills, including previous experience of managing teams and prioritizing tasks.
  • Financial and budgetary awareness.
  • Management and use of MHE.
  • Management/warehouse/people management qualification would be advantageous.
  • Strong industry continuous improvement skills and knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage, motivate, and coach.
  • HSE qualification (such as IOSH/NEBOSH) – advantageous.
  • Experience with SAP (or similar WMS systems) – advantageous.
  • Experience in working in a cross-cultural environment – advantageous.
