Autopsy Investigator

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Autopsy Investigator to join our team. As a Coroner's Investigation Officer, you will work under judicial direction to provide sufficient evidence to enable coroners to fulfil their judicial function.

The successful candidate will have excellent communications skills, a positive teamwork ethic, and methodical questioning techniques. You will also have experience in a coroner's office or in nursing, paramedicine, biomedical, or another investigative role.

Key Responsibilities:

• To apply methodical questioning, investigative procedures, and fundamental medical knowledge to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information to produce a case report for the coroner.
• To work under judicial direction of the Coroner, within statutory frameworks, national & local policy and procedural guidelines.
• To attend mortuaries for identifications and forensic post-mortems and may occasionally be required to attend a scene of death.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is approximately £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including a contributory pension scheme and generous annual leave entitlement.
