We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Phonics Support Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Phonics Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping students develop essential reading and writing skills, building their confidence and enthusiasm for learning.
Key Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support to help students develop phonics skills.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and structured phonics lessons.
- Monitoring students' progress and offering feedback to inform future support strategies.
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to take risks and learn from their mistakes.
- Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistent and high-quality phonics instruction.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.
- A strong understanding of phonics and early literacy development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping children succeed.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in education, teaching assistance, or early childhood development are highly desirable.
