Senior Engineering Project Manager Opportunity

Oyster Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Project Manager to join their team in Newcastle. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and commercial awareness, with a proven track record of delivering projects within budget and in line with company objectives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the full project lifecycle, from initial brief to project completion. This will involve working closely with the project management team, as well as collaborating with internal stakeholders and customers. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential, as the role will involve regular travel to customer sites across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project management: overseeing the full project lifecycle, from initial brief to project completion.
  2. Technical expertise: providing technical guidance and support to project teams.
  3. Commercial awareness: ensuring projects are delivered within budget and in line with company objectives.
  4. Leadership: leading project teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders and customers.
Requirements:
  1. Project management qualification with at least 5 years' experience in a closely related industry.
  2. Extensive experience in client-facing roles, including gathering initial project briefs and coordinating with all relevant parties.
  3. Willingness to travel overseas on occasion.
  4. Fabrication/manufacturing project management experience.
  5. Experience of Large Oil and Gas/Power projects.
  6. Understanding of Primavera P3e, Microsoft Project, or Asta project planning software.
