Exciting Opportunity for Skilled Fitters to Join Our Team

We are currently recruiting for 10 skilled fitters to join our busy compressors team based in our Renfrew site. As a skilled fitter, you will work within our Bareshaft team to assemble screw compressors to engineering/contract specification and then test the screw compressors hydraulically and pneumatically to specification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble screw compressors to engineering drawings and contract specifications
  • Adhere to relevant instructions contained within SOPs/WSIs on the assembly of screw compressors to ensure that each compressor is built to specific standards
  • Conform to all aspects of HCO Quality Management system including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures, including all WSIs to ensure conformance to international standards
  • Deliver quality product in a timely manner while contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles to ensure compliance with cost forecasts
  • Contribute & comply with accurate collation of shop floor documentation information. To ensure compliance to internal and external requirements
  • Provide training support for apprentices and work colleagues to ensure appropriate skill transfer
  • Interact & respond to all aspects of HBE supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery, and quality improvements
  • Ensure adherence to company environmental, health, and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimization of environmental impact
  • Dispose of all waste in accordance with site waste segregation requirements
Requirements:
  • Recognized mechanical fitting apprenticeship and relevant qualifications
  • Previous experience of precision manufacturing & assembly of rotating equipment i.e. pumps, compressors, and turbines
  • Engineering drawing interpretation ability Rotating equipment experience, including balancing of sub-assembly components
  • Previous experience of hydrostatic testing of assemblies
  • Good communication skills
