Solar PV Design Engineering Manager

About the Role:
As a PV Design Engineering Manager at Interv l Group | B Corp™, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of solar energy projects. You will lead a talented design engineering team and deliver cutting-edge solar PV designs that meet technical, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the design engineering activities for solar PV projects across their lifecycle, ensuring innovative, efficient, and compliant solutions.
- Conduct complex site assessments and feasibility studies to optimise project design and energy production.
- Develop technical specifications, solar yield assessments, design layouts, and Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) to drive project success.
- Oversee the review and approval of designs, documentation, and contractor outputs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
- Foster a collaborative culture, providing mentorship and technical support to team members while promoting health, safety, and quality standards.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and industry bodies, to enhance project delivery and maintain strong relationships.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in solar PV design, with a focus on large-scale (>10MWp) ground-mount projects.
- Proficiency with design software such as PVSyst, PVSol, Helioscope, SAM, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of photovoltaic technology, system components, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in engineering management, including upskilling teams and providing technical oversight.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in rooftop and carport solar PV design.
- Knowledge of electrical system design, including HV and grid integration.
