Health and Safety Manager

At Amazon UK Services Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to play a critical role in managing health and safety within our Fulfillment Centre (FC).

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, coordinating, and driving improvements in inbound safety, quality, and productivity, working closely with Operations Management teams to enhance the functionality and level of service provided to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the health and safety function at the FC, ensuring the delivery of objectives and supervising staff.
  2. Engage in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  3. Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all stakeholders within the designated area of responsibility.
  4. Review and audit health and safety management arrangements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing mitigations and processes.
  5. Develop strategies to plan and organize work systems, reducing health and safety risks and recommending effective mitigations.
  6. Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety metrics, driving continuous improvement.
  7. Lead a behavioural culture change programme across a large, complex, multi-shift operation, promoting a safety-first culture.
  8. Implement and review company global safety policies, ensuring compliance with local HSE requirements.
Requirements
  • Education to a degree level and additional qualifications to an NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level.
  • Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English.
