Prescribing Team Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Prescription Team Lead to join our team at Newton Place Surgery. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy and a passion for leadership and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the prescription team in resolving day-to-day medicines issues and improving patient outcomes.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the prescribing team, including undertaking appraisals and reviewing competencies.
- Implement medication changes and reconciliation with the support of the wider clinical team.
- Complete audits on patient safety in prescribing medication and present findings to the clinical teams.
- Ensure that all major MHRA drug alerts are acted upon and provide advice on medication changes.
- Take a leading role in Medicines Management incentives and promote cost-effective, safe, and evidence-based prescribing.
About Us
Newton Place Surgery is a friendly and multidisciplinary team of 17 GPs, ACPs, paramedics, clinical pharmacists, ANPs, practice nurses, Associate Practitioners, and HCAs. We are a forward-thinking practice committed to delivering high-quality care to our 19,400 registered patients.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 GCSE A-C or equivalent.
- A level or Equivalent level 3 qualifications.
- Prescription clerk or dispensary qualification.
- Experience of working on EMIS web Clinical System.
- Knowledge of current medicines management issues.
