Job Description

As the Assistant Chief Engineer - Safety, you will hold a key strategic role to define and support the delivery of the PWR3 (Dreadnought) Safety strategy and the associated programmes of work. You will regularly interface with external customer stakeholders at all levels, participate in formal reviews associated with safety governance and assurance, and have the opportunity to travel to customer operational bases.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide strategic engineering direction for all emergent and planned Dreadnought safety campaigns undertaken by the business.
  2. Act as the primary point of contact for strategic Dreadnought safety case matters with internal specialists and suppliers, external customers, and other stakeholders.
  3. Provide safety programme leadership and comply with the Engineering function's policies and within the Chief Engineer's Terms of Reference.
  4. Maintain appropriate engagement with internal/external stakeholders to ensure that nuclear safety case activities are correctly focused, integrated, efficient, and effective.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  1. Technical Leadership experience in a highly regulated environment (Defence/Nuclear/Aerospace/Oil and Gas).
  2. Knowledge of product safety & regulatory requirements.
  3. Project Management capabilities and experience.
  4. Relevant Science/Engineering degree.

This is an attractive opportunity that offers a salary of £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension scheme and professional development opportunities.
