Job Description: SHEQ Advisor

We seek an experienced SHEQ Advisor to join our Health & Safety Department. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting regular SHEQ site inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing measures to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily SHEQ site inspections, documenting findings and submitting reports as necessary.
  • Stop any unsafe working practices and report them to site management, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Maintain awareness of the Company's SHEQ systems, procedures, and policies, applying them as relevant to your area of responsibility.
  • Assist in preparing safety plans, updates, and revising existing procedures to reflect changes in legislation or best practices.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the HSE, participate in discussions on accident prevention, and stay informed about current Codes of Practice and new safety guidelines.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, health and safety meetings, and other sessions as required.
  • Investigate minor site incidents, reporting as necessary, and contribute to the production of method statements and risk assessments.
Requirements and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • NEBOSH certification (or equivalent)
  • Iosh certification (desirable)
  • Experience in a similar role within the construction or engineering sectors
  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in MS packages like Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Effective time management and ability to work independently
  • A valid UK driving license
