About the Role
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to enhance product competitiveness and meet evolving customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with portfolio steering, pricing, and claims teams to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Monitor market, technology, and data developments to identify opportunities and threats, and provide recommendations to enhance customer journey and communications.
  • Support the Underwriting Manager with projects, research, and presentations, and participate in management forums internally and externally.
  • Analyse product-related regulatory bulletins and escalate issues to the Product Manager when necessary.
  • Undertake audits of Operations and suppliers to ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  • Define testing requirements for product or underwriting changes for Manager approval.
  • Contribute to the Annual Product Review to ensure the product remains fit for purpose and provides value for money for our customers.
About You
  • Financial Lines underwriting experience and knowledge of the digital market is essential.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical ability.
  • Experience of managing and collaborating with stakeholders of varying levels of seniority.
  • Understanding of the skills and tools required for effective portfolio management and the ability to use these key skills to manage a profitable portfolio.
  • Understanding of causes and costs of claims and experience of applying risk management tools to mitigate losses.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and its application to Financial Lines insurance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
