Accounting Assistant Position

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-focused, and proficient in IT systems.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in financial operations and contribute to the overall success of the business. As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for processing accounts payable, managing supplier payments, and maintaining the sales ledger.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable using a semi-automated system.
  • Manage supplier payment runs and maintain the sales ledger.
  • Ensure customer accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Post accruals and prepayment entries, as well as post transactions into Sage Accounting.
  • Investigate invoice discrepancies and resolve queries.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and maintain the vehicle database.
  • Assist with quarterly VAT returns and post expense claims.
Requirements:
  • Team player comfortable working in a small team.
  • Strong commercial and business awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills to build relationships at all levels.
  • Proficient in IT systems with an analytical mindset.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, can-do attitude.

The estimated annual salary for this role is £28,000 - £30,000 per annum.
