Special Constable

About the Role

As a Special Constable with Derbyshire Constabulary, you will play a vital role in supporting our communities and helping to keep Derbyshire one of the safest places to live and work in England.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out high-visibility foot patrols to deter and detect criminals.
• Work with local businesses and communities to educate them about crime prevention and reduce the fear of crime.
• Engage with schoolchildren to promote crime reduction and community safety.
• Confront anti-social behaviour and manage alcohol-related incidents.
• Enforce road safety laws and conduct house-to-house enquiries.
• Participate in police operations to disrupt and arrest offenders.

Requirements

• Be 17 1⁄2 years old on application and 18 years old on appointment.
• Be a UK Citizen, EU Citizen with EU Settled or Pre Settled Status, a Commonwealth Citizen or Foreign National with no restrictions on your stay in the United Kingdom.
• Be in good health and of good character.
