About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Observability Solutions Architect to join our team at Civica UK Ltd. As an Observability Engineer, you will play a critical role in enhancing the reliability and performance of our systems through comprehensive monitoring and observability tooling and practices.

This position involves designing and implementing observability tooling that leverages metrics, logs, and traces to provide deep insights into system behavior and performance. You will enhance the developer experience by delivering the tooling which empowers our development teams to identify key performance indicators, troubleshoot issues, and optimize application performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement observability tooling into our developer platform, enabling developers to rapidly develop and iterate on our software and services
  • Help users of the developer platform make best use of our observability tooling and practices
  • Act as an observability subject matter expert for other colleagues
  • Proactively develop best practices within our platform community and integrate these into our tooling

Requirements and Qualifications

You will be an experienced observability engineer who possesses the following skills:

  • Datadog (preferred), Honeycomb, Prometheus/Grafana
  • Microsoft Azure and/or Amazon Web Services
  • DevOps concepts & practices

Preferred Skills and Experience

It would be great if you have experience with:

  • At least one DevOps-friendly programming language, preferably Go
  • SRE
