Dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant Required for Complex Needs School

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Wetherby area.
About the RoleAs a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs in a specialist educational setting. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with complex learning and physical needs.
- Assisting with personal care needs, ensuring students' comfort, dignity, and safety.
- Working closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver individualised learning plans and adapt activities to suit each student's abilities.
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement, using patience and understanding to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Supporting students during transition times, mealtimes, and breaks to ensure continuity and well-being.
- Helping prepare and organise specialised resources, adapting materials to meet sensory and developmental needs.
- Monitoring student progress and communicating regularly with the teaching team and parents to provide updates and feedback.
In return for your dedication and expertise, you can expect a competitive daily rate of £90-£110, based on experience and qualifications. You will also have access to ongoing professional development opportunities, including additional SEND training, to help you grow and develop in your role.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience working with students with SEND or complex needs in a school or care setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of personal care support, with a compassionate approach to assisting students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a dedicated and supportive team.
- Patient, empathetic, and adaptable, with a commitment to promoting inclusion and positive outcomes.
- A genuine interest in supporting the learning and development of students with complex needs.
- DBS check required (or willingness to complete one).
