Job Title: Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT)

MLK Education Search is excited to be supporting this 'Independent, trauma-centred therapeutic group of schools in Essex who are looking for a confident SaLT to join their team.

All pupils have EHCPs for adverse childhood experiences and SEMH needs. The school caters for all National Curriculum subjects and learning is linked to children's curriculum and individual needs, progress plans and assessment of learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work therapeutically on a one to one basis, supporting a small group, or with a whole class
  • As well as offering therapy sessions, you will have a therapeutic presence across two schools, supporting both Primary and Secondary students
  • Leading staff training and development to ensure the truly integrated therapy and learning provision is maintained
  • Offer therapeutic interventions that aid children's emotional wellbeing and learning
  • Plan, resource and prepare effective and engaging therapy programmes for children
  • Liaise professionally with colleagues as appropriate
  • Build positive working relationships with children's families
  • Ensure children responsible for are supervised and safe at all times
  • Plan, lead and deliver whole-staff therapeutic training

Essential and Desirable Requirements:

  • Degree level, fully qualified and registered Speech and Language Therapist
  • Successful experience of working with children and young people in challenging contexts
  • High level of competence in both English and maths
  • Further relevant training or qualifications would be highly desirable
