Working at the Elections

Are you interested in helping at an election?

We are always looking for people to assist us with various roles, including Presiding Officers, Poll Clerks, and Count Assistants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Presiding Officer - £276 (plus £50 to attend training)
• Poll Clerk - £192 (plus £20 to attend training)
• Count Assistant - £14 per hour (day rate), £21 per hour (evening and weekend rate)

What to Expect:

As a Presiding Officer, you will be responsible for the conduct of the ballot in the polling stations and must have a good knowledge of the voting procedure.

Poll Clerks will assist the Presiding Officer in the conduct of the ballot in the polling stations. No previous experience is needed, and full training will be provided.

Count Assistants will open ballot boxes, verify the accounts, and then count the votes for each candidate in the elections. Great care must be taken to ensure that mistakes are not made. No previous experience is needed, and full training will be provided.
