Job Title: Principal Embedded Software Development Engineer

Job Summary:

Raymarine UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Principal Embedded Software Development Engineer to work in our Fareham office, developing software for various products, including new and existing lines.

This role requires a strong track record of delivering software to meet customer needs and collaborating with a team to guide engineering contributors.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to a team of engineers.
  • Develop embedded software as part of a multi-discipline engineering team.
  • Disseminate project architecture direction, uphold coding standards, and implement quality improvements.
  • Distill project deliverables into work packages.
  • Work in an Agile team structure.

Requirements:

  • Ideal degree-level engineering qualification and significant technical experience.
  • Experience with C/C++ for embedded real-time systems.
  • Agile team experience.
  • Real-time operating system design.
  • Driver configuration and creation.
  • Embedded platform experience, including bare metal, STM32, and NVIDIA.
  • Linux kernel building and modifying.
  • Prototyping, logic probe analysis, and board bringup.
  • Debugging skills with GDB/LLDB, JTAG, and ICE.
  • Experience with OpenGL and GLSL/Vulcan.

Desirable Skills:

  • Maritime industry experience.
  • Docker configuration.
  • RADAR.
  • DSP algorithm knowledge.
  • SONAR.
  • Camera/video streaming.
  • BASH.
  • Experience with other languages, such as Rust/Python.
