Salary
A base salary up to £36,209 per annum based on a 40-hour working week. Overtime is payable at 1.5 times the hourly rate from Monday to Saturday and double time on Sundays.
Job Description
As a Mechanical Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for attending customer locations to determine the scope of work required. You will assess and agree with customers on their priorities, ensuring safe working practices are adhered to. Your duties will include:
- Liaising with customers and controllers to provide clarity on expected work, timescales, and associated costs.
- Identifying root causes of breakdowns in a timely manner and obtaining parts in the most cost-effective way.
- Ensuring all work complies with engineering standards and relevant specifications.
- Carrying out inspections and checks on your own work to ensure equipment performs satisfactorily and safely before handing it back to customers.
- Identifying any further work required on machines and informing customers, especially when additional costs are involved.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A relevant technical qualification.
- Previous experience within a similar role.
- A good understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical principles.
- The ability to work independently and under pressure.
- The ability to manage and prioritise your workload.
- An understanding of customer needs.
