Job Title: Technical Buyer

At Gripple Ltd, an employee-owned company, we are seeking a skilled Technical Buyer to join our supply chain team. As a key member of our purchasing team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods for our UK-based manufacturing plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain quotations and negotiate best commercial offers with suppliers
  • Conduct research for new components and source materials to specifications and engineering drawings
  • Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers in line with company values
  • Improving prices and terms of business with suppliers and reviewing opportunities for cost savings
  • Producing and presenting reports for internal and external consumption
  • Providing analysis on costs and reviewing cost reduction activities
  • Applying a professional approach to all supplier relationships
  • Following necessary governance and approvals related to procurement
Requirements:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a purchasing team
  • Familiarity with technical specifications, engineering drawings, and scopes of work
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and IT skills
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks
  • Experience in purchasing, price negotiation, and contract implementation
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to deadlines
  • Commercial and financial awareness
